Law enforcement study prepares students for a career as a police officer, sheriff's deputy, California Highway Patrol Officer (CHP), Federal Bureau of Investigation Agent (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration Agent (DEA), Secret Service Agent, U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Fish and Game Warden or customs agent. An advanced degree is required to become a lawyer, district attorney, public defender, defense lawyer, judge or bailiff. Administration of Justice is the field of study dealing with law enforcement, corrections and the judicial system. Within each of these broad areas, the program prepares students for employment either as a civilian or as a sworn officer of the law. As an administration of justice student, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the many different fields of employment available under this broad category. You can prepare for successful completion of an approximate 22-week academy program to become a sworn officer in the many various government agencies, or you can prepare for one of the many entry-level civilian positions also available.
