Students whose first language is not English may be required to demonstrate English proficiency by one of the following means:
Proving youre from a country where English is the only official language
Establishing that a prior bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree was earned from another accredited institution of higher education (meeting university transfer eligibility requirements) in the United States
Establishing that a prior bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree was earned from a country where English is the only official language or from a university at which English is the only official language of instruction
Submitting a qualifying score (220 or higher for computer-based, 80 or higher for internet-based or 550 or higher for paper-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
A minimum 520 EBRW rSAT score, 480 Critical Reading SAT score, 20 ACT (English section), or 42 CLT (Verbal Reasoning plus Grammar/Writing)
Presenting a minimum grade of B in both English Composition I and English Composition II, or the equivalent, taken at another accredited institution of higher education (meeting university transfer eligibility requirements) in the United States
Completion of four years of English in an American high school in the United States

The BS in Legal Studies at UCF provides you with a broad understanding of basic principles of the law and the role and function of the legal system. Through your studies, youll learn how to write for the legal system and conduct legal research. Youll form a strong foundation from which to build your understanding of other elements of the law, such as international law, negotiation and mediation.<br><br>The legal studies program offers a number of various opportunities and high-impact experiences. For example, you can join a team where youll develop professional skills that will be beneficial throughout school and life, such as Mock Trial, Moot Court and the Mediation Team. We also have an Undergraduate Law Journal which is a scholarly and creative work product produced by undergraduate students. In addition to preparing you for a successful, law-related career, the program provides a solid foundation for law school. While no specific major is required for admission to law school, a degree in legal studies provides you with an unparalleled opportunity for law school preparation.
