A bachelor’s degree in any discipline of engineering, materials science, physics or chemistry... TOEFL Internet-Based Test (IBT) 79 or greater, TOEFL Paper-Based Test (PBT) 550 or greater score. IELTS of 6.5 or greater. A degree seeking applicant must meet university wide requirements. A complete Graduate Studies application. Official transcripts from all institutions attended. All international transcripts must be recorded in English or officially translated to English. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in the last 60 semester credit hours of undergraduate studies.

The Master of Science in Advanced Materials Engineering (MS-MatE) program trains graduate students with state-of-the-art technical knowledge and skill sets necessary for independent critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making to address multidisciplinary problems in materials engineering. The degree program features interdisciplinary research training, which is accompanied by business skill training and transformative leadership on management of technology.<br>Graduates will have advanced knowledge and capability to solve problems related to the synthesis, characterization, design, and application of materials. Graduates choosing biomedical material concentration will also be a job-ready workforce for the continued growth of biotechnology.<br>The Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Advanced Materials Engineering (MatE) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is an interdisciplinary graduate degree program offered by the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design. The M.S. in MatE degree program is directed by the Advanced Materials Engineering Graduate Program Committee and is currently administered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
