The ECE Department offers a full range of accredited degree programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering through the Ph.D. Level, Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity and interdisciplinary Master's Degrees in Software Engineering and Cybersecurity. These programs are designed to not simply train students to be users of current technology but to educate them so they actually understand how this technology works. This allows them to be innovators throughout their lives and become active contributors to the ever-changing technological landscape. Course requirements, including at least 48 hours of graduate coursework (excluding dissertation research), are defined in the Program of Study. A maximum of 6 semester hours credit in thesis/research work from the master's degree may be allowed to count toward the 48 hour Course requirements, including at least 48 hours of graduate coursework (excluding dissertation research), are defined in the Program of Study. Students must also register for a minimum of 18 semester hours of dissertation research. Students must register for dissertation research each semester in which they receive faculty supervision. The approval of the Program of Study should be accomplished as early as possible, but no later than one year after admission to the Ph.D. program and passing the preliminary exam. Once approved, the program may be amended only by the Supervisory Committee upon submission of the appropriate form.
