While a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline is recommended, it is not required. However, if you do not hold a bachelor's in one of these fields, youll need to complete several undergraduate articulation courses prior to admission. A grade of B or higher must be obtained in any articulation courses.

All applicants for graduate study at the University of Central Florida must hold a U.S. bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, from a regionally accredited or governmentally recognized institution of higher learning. This is the minimum requirement for admission to a graduate program at UCF. International students applying to programs requiring an outside Course-by-Course Evaluation with GPA calculation must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their official transcripts from a credential evaluation service recommended by UCF. This course-by-course evaluation must show a GPA that is equivalent to a 3.0 from an earned degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.

The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering provides you with a broad background in areas such as electromagnetics and optics, signal processing and systems, and micro- and nano-systems. Through your studies, youll learn to develop and disseminate the theory and methods for the design, analysis and implementation of the principles and practices in electrical engineering.<br><br>And while electrical engineering is one of the oldest disciplines in engineering, it has considerably evolved over the years. In this program, youll be able to contribute to the advancement of the profession specializing in a research area of their interest, from power electronics to cyber-physical systems to computer systems and VLSI.<br><br>Upon graduation, youll be prepared to pursue advanced studies or establish successful employment within industry, government, education and a number of other areas. Many graduates also take part in professional societies, participate in training opportunities and go on to obtain professional licensure and certification in the field.
