The ECSE department graduates visionary and versatile professionals who have solid foundations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and know how apply their knowledge and skills to address the world's big challenges. The ECSE experience at RPI provides a creative, stimulating environment that prepares and motivates graduates to: Identify, model, analyze, and solve challenging real world problems. Demonstrate specialized technical knowledge in their chosen field . Obtain strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing, interpersonal communications, and presenting . ESCE undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs combine rigorous coursework with hands-on research supervised by RPI's renowned faculty and senior researchers. Students pursuing the PhD in ELEC or CSYS need to complete 48 credits beyond the master's or 72 credits beyond the bachelor's degree.
