Electrical engineering is the design, development, testing, and supervision of electrical equipment. This equipment allows people to access information and communicate globally, as well as transmit power from distant sources to demand centers. Electrical engineers work in an exciting, ever-evolving field. At Manhattan College, the ABET-accredited electrical engineering program teaches you the physical and engineering principles needed to design and operate: electronic and medical devices, wiring in buildings, biomedical instrumentation, power grids, communication systems, nanotechnology, defense systems. Our students learn by doing. You will gain practical firsthand experience through lab sessions, research projects and a design capstone course in which you will design your own devices and systems as part of a team. In addition to regular coursework, Manhattan College offers opportunities for undergraduates to do research during the summer directly with a faculty member. As a research scholar, you receive a stipend along with support and guidance from the Center for Graduate School and Fellowship Advisement to help you develop the intellectual, interpersonal, and research skills necessary to competitively apply to graduate schools, professional schools, and other fellowships.
