Youve probably known for a long time that youre absolutely mesmerized by technology. You are passionate about space exploration, nanoscience, medical devices, robotics, alternative energy, the internet of things, music, computer and/or big data and machine learning. Youre interested in why things work, and you want a career that ensures you will be able to make a positive impact on society. You sound like you belong in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.<br><br>If you major in electrical engineering (EE) or computer engineering (CmpE), you can expect to line up a rewarding job well before you step off the graduation stage. EE and CmpE are the backbone disciplines of today's technological explosion, from the development of microelectronics and robotics, emergence of quantum computing and nanodevices, to the embedded computer systems found in household appliances, automobiles, as well as spacecraft and satellite equipment. Increasingly, they are also the source for innovative solutions to challenges in energy and healthcare.
