国际学生入学条件

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited program in engineering, physics, chemistry, applied mathematics or other appropriate program of study. Applicants with a different undergraduate degree may be required to complete prerequisites. Applicants should have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. Some programs require higher GPAs for admission. In some cases, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be admitted on a conditional basis.

All students are encouraged to submit proof of English proficiency for Admission into the University of Dayton. Proof of English proficiency can be submitted in one of the following ways:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based (IB) test is required for full admission.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum band score of 6.5 is required for full admission.
International Test of English Proficiency (ITEP). A minimum overall score of 4.5 is required for full admission.
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE). A minimum score of 60 is required for full admission.
Duolingo English Test (DET): A minimum score of 105 is required for full admission.
Some graduate programs may require a higher proficiency score for full admission.

Learn analytical, computational and experimental methods in the mechanics of solids, structures and materials. In our program, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of engineering mechanics, increase your knowledge and insight of recent developments, and have the opportunity to conduct research in groundbreaking technologies, such as nanotechnology and composites. Careers You'll be prepared for careers at the forefront of a variety of fields, including aerospace, electronics, automotive, manufacturing, software, and computer industries, because our coursework emphasizes analytical skills, scientific breadth and research awareness. A minimum of 33 semester hours. 12 required semester hours in engineering mechanics: EGM 500, 503, 533, and 546. 9 elective semester hours in engineering mechanics. 6 required semester hours in mathematics: MTH 535 and 551. 6 semester hours of research on an approved project or thesis. Thesis or project research may be replaced by 9 semester hours of additional coursework only with the approval of both your adviser and the program director.
