To be considered for admission, Ontario high school students must meet the following requirements:
Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
Completion of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%
Completion of the following required Grade 12 U courses (minimum grade of 70% in each):
English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)
Physics (SPH4U)
Chemistry (SCH4U)
An overall average of 70% is required for consideration. Due to competition, the average needed for admission can fluctuate each year (it depends on the number of applications received and the number of spaces available). The grade range at the top of this page represents the average required in previous years. Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level subjects, including prerequisite subjects, and a total score of 28 or higher (bonus points will be accepted).

In Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)’s Industrial Engineering degree program, you’ll learn how to use creativity and modeling to help organizations make smarter and safer decisions. In your first year, you’ll start with engineering fundamentals, like calculus, physics and engineering economics. As you progress, you’ll study advanced topics, such as management sciences, operations research, data science and facilities design. In your fourth year, you’ll address a real-world challenge through a team capstone design project and present your solution to industry experts.Experiential learning opportunities: Co-op available. You can put your theories to the test in our renowned labs, including the Data Science Lab, the Human Factors Engineering Lab, and the Robotics, Mechatronics and Automation Laboratory.
