A B.S. in a related field of engineering or suitable physical science is a prerequisite for admission in to the Nuclear Engineering graduate program.
2 Letters of Recommendation (thesis only)
Transcripts (in English) from all colleges and universities attended. All unofficial copies of transcripts and scores can be uploaded to your online application for S&T to review. Upon arrival on campus, you must request that an official copy of your transcript(s) to be sent to us directly from your previous university's registrar's office and all official scores reported directly from the respective testing agency. Once we receive the official documents, we will verify them. If there are any discrepancies between the unofficial documents you submitted, Missouri S&T will withdraw your admission and you will not be allowed to apply to S&T in the future.
A statement of purpose (personal statement) of 1,000 words or less on why you are interested in the program

Admission as a regular graduate student is normally limited to those who ranked in the upper third of their baccalaureate graduating class or who have done quality work at the graduate level. For this requirement, a cumulative B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale), or a B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the student's last sixty credit hours of undergraduate coursework is considered equivalent to an upper one-third standing.
On the Personal Statement screen, you must submit a statement of 1,000 words or less on why youre interested in the program. This statement may include your educational goals, discussion of personal circumstances, and faculty you wish to work with.

As a nuclear engineer, you will develop and promote the use of energy released from nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, and radioactive material. <br><br>Nuclear power plants operating in the United States produce about 20% of our nation's electricity. Nuclear power technology produces about 60% of our nation's carbon-free electricity, reduces the emission of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide significantly, and contributes to a cleaner environment. The same technology supports propulsion of US military submarines and aircraft carriers. Radioactive materials are also used in medicine for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
