Test of English as a Foreign Language - A score of 79 internet-based or 550 paper-based is the university minimum requirement for all graduate students.
IELTS - The minimum score required is a 6.0 overall band score Texas AM University Kingsville only accepts scores submitted electronically by the IELTS test center.
DET - The university most competitive applicants have DET scores of at least 100.

The Doctor of Philosophy degree in Environmental Engineering offered by the Department of Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University-Kingsville prepares students for careers in research, teaching and environmental management. As environmental issues transcend media and geographic borders, it is increasingly important for the environmental professional to be able to address issues and derive solutions from a holistic basis. Students enrolled in the program are exposed to the fundamental principles, tools and applications in Environmental Systems Engineering spanning eight areas:<br><br>Air Quality,<br>Water Quality,<br>Solid/Hazardous Waste,<br>Ecological Engineering,<br>Natural Resources Management,<br>Environmental Systems,<br>Environmental Informatics and<br>Environmental Biotechnology.<br><br>Coursework Requirements<br>A total of 63 credits to meet the graduation requirements<br>A total of 6 credits of required didactic courses: 1) Advanced Engineering Math, and 2) Seminar and Research Integrity, which are 3 credits each<br>A minimum 18 credits of didactic 6xxx coursework, which includes the above 6 credits<br>A minimum 30 credits of dissertation
