The degree of Master of Applied Ocean Technology (Ocean Mapping) (MAOT) provides students with an advanced level of technological literacy, theory and competency to conduct data collection and ocean mapping. Practitioners will be able to communicate their work to a variety of stakeholder groups and provide credible contributions to the global demand to support ocean management and sustainability.<br><br>This Program has been recognized as meeting the requirements of the FIGIHOICA S-5A Standards of Competence for Category "A" Hydrographic Surveyors.<br><br>The Graduate Diploma in Applied Ocean Technology (Ocean Mapping) provides opportunities for students who want to enter the ocean mapping field by developing highly technical capabilities that will empower them to conduct industry-ready tasks and applied research in any aspect of ocean mapping.<br><br>MAOT (Ocean Mapping) - The MAOT (Ocean Mapping) can be completed in two years of full time study. It is offered in a course only option or a course and project option.<br><br>Duration (Full-time students):<br>Graduate diploma: 1 year; MAOT: 2 years<br>Campus: Marine Institute campus with some electives offered at St. John's campus or online<br>Application Deadline: January 15 (Graduate diploma, MAOT) for Fall admission
