Students in Mechanical Engineering at Valpo develop a broad knowledge enabling them to enter almost any field. They can also specialize in sustainability, manufacturing, or mechatronics, allowing them to customize their degree to fit their particular interests. Students learn by doing in state-of-the-art laboratory and manufacturing facilities and have the opportunity to perform undergraduate research projects, including working in the only solar furnace in the nation at an undergraduate university. Mechanical Engineering students develop strong communication and leadership skills to accompany their technical expertise.
