English Language Proficiency:

A minimum TOEFL score of 79 internet-based (550 paper-based or 213 computer-based); A minimum overall Duolingo score of 110 is recommended for admission. Individual programs may require higher scores and all sub scores will be considered; A score of 3 on the College Board Advanced Placement – International English Language (AP-IEL); AP grades range from 5 high to 1 low; 3 equals “Qualified”; or A band score of 6.5 on the University of Cambridge IELTS (International English Language Testing System); band scores range from 9 high to 1 low; 6.5 lies between 6 “competent user” and 7 “good user.”

Mechanical Engineering (ME) is concerned with energy and its transformations and the design of objects and structures that move. Mechanical engineers are responsible for conceiving, designing, modelling, manufacturing, testing, and marketing devices such as engines and energy systems, machines and robotics among countless other devices. Typical careers involve product design, development, manufacturing, sales, management, teaching, and research. Mechanical Engineering at UNF offers an ABET accredited BS degree, as well as a Master's degree. Our alumni find success in top tier companies and graduate schools across the country.
