A baccalaureate degree in engineering, computer science, a physical science or mathematics with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
Competitive Graduate Record Examination scores, particularly the Quantitative Reasoning section. The strongest applicants will have a quantitative section score of 160 or higher. Applicants who have graduated with an engineering degree from Mines within the past five years are not required to submit GRE scores.
TOEFL score of 79 or higher (550 or higher paper-based or 213 computer-based) for applicants whose native language is not English
TOFEL IBT-(Reading- 20, Listening 21, Writing 17, Speaking- 21) Score- 79
IELTS Minimum overall band of 6.5 with no band below 6.0.

If youre looking for a graduate degree based on hands-on learning and one that turns theory into practice by solving real-world engineering problems, mechanical engineering at Mines is for you.<br><br>In our graduate program, youll be prepared to tackle a wide array of multidisciplinary technical engineering challenges. Under the leadership of our internationally renowned faculty, youll work directly with other institutions, industry partners and national labs.<br><br>Graduates will expand their skills and knowledge in biomechanics, robotics and automation, solid mechanics, materials, and manufacturing, thermal fluid and energy systems, and more to become leaders in their field and solve some of the world's most pressing challenges. <br>The Mechanical Engineering Department offers the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Mechanical Engineering. The program demands academic rigor and depth, and also addresses real-world engineering problems. The department has four broad divisions of research activity that stem from core fields in Mechanical Engineering: 1) Biomechanics, 2) Thermal Fluid and Energy Systems, 3) Solid Mechanics, Materials, and Manufacturing, and 4) Robotics and Automation.
