With the exception of the MEM program, applicants must contact faculty prior to applying to secure research supervision.
Applicants should hold an undergraduate in science, forestry, environmental studies, social ecology or the equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum 3.0 (B) average.
Applicants to the PhD program should have a masters degree from a recognized university.
Applicants must submit a complete application, including three references, a resume, and a statement of interest.
International applicants whose first language is not English must submit language scores that meet or exceed international English language testing system (IELTS) band 7.
TOEFL - Paper Based (minimum score of 550), including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score 4.0)
Internet Based TOEFL (Minimum score of 94) including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score of 25)
Computer Based TOEFL (minimum score 213) including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score of 4.0)
MELAB - Minimum score of 85 , Pearson Test of English (Academic) -Minimum score of 65

We've been teaching the science of forestry for over 100 years, helping countless students manage and protect the planet's natural resources for generations to come.<br><br>Ranked among the best in North America, our department's collaborative learning environment gives students the ability to examine environmental problems from both a biophysical and a socioeconomic perspective. Graduates are well-equipped to succeed in a variety of roles in the forestry industry, growing into respected environmental leaders, natural resource managers, conservationists, project coordinators and researchers.<br><br>We normally have around 80 graduate students who are working on a variety of projects. Our recent graduates have gone on to work in conservation biology, First Nations consultation, CURA project coordination, geospatial analysis, research and more.
