Official Transcripts – Transcripts must be in English and original language and contain ALL secondary school, college or university academic credits and grades. The transcripts must be sent directly to the MU Admissions Office by the institution that you attended.Successful completion of an English as a Second Language (ESL) program approved by Marshall University’s Admissions Office.
Successful completion of the INTO Marshall Intensive English program level 6 with minimum C’s in all courses or completion of INTO Marshall Pathway course ENG 160, or ENG 101A with minimum C grade.
High school diploma, minimum 2.5 GPA
Diploma or degree from an English speaking school – A degree or a diploma from an accredited secondary school, college or university in which the primary language of instruction for the entire institution is English.
Student’s transferring from an acceptable institution with the equivalency of English 101 earning a minimum C grade.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – TOEFL iBT score 61 (internet based) for undergraduate study. TOEFL PBT 500 (paper based) for undergraduate study. (Marshall University’s ETS Code: 5396)
Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) – The minimum acceptable score is 79% for undergraduate study.
A minimum score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for undergraduate study.

Biomedical Engineering Program Educational Objectives (POs)- The program educational objectives that graduates are expected to exhibit or achieve with the BSBME from Marshall University are: Graduates demonstrate technical and/or professional skills, which may include engineering problem-solving, scientific inquiry, and/or engineering design, to solve challenging problems in biomedical engineering and related fields. Graduates are skilled in communicating and working collaboratively in diverse work environments. Graduates engaging in life-long learning activities at graduate, medical or other professional programs or workshops. Graduates entering professional careers find appropriate career progression and success. The Student Outcomes of the B.S.BME. are: An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. An ability to apply the engineering design process to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration for public health and safety, and global, cultural, social, environmental, economic, and other factors as appropriate to the discipline. 3. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. 4. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences. 5. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts. 6. An ability to recognize the ongoing need to acquire new knowledge, to choose appropriate learning strategies, and to apply this knowledge. 7. An ability to function effectively as a member or leader of a team that establishes goals, plans tasks, meets deadlines, and creates a collaborative and inclusive environment.
