To be eligible, candidates must:
Hold a bachelor's degree with honors or major (or equivalent) in engineering, science, computer science or a related field with a minimum admission average of B+ (75%).
Demonstrate good research skills, whether in the context of a fourth-year bachelor's project or through the writing of research reports, summaries or other documents demonstrating research skills.
The Accelerated Stream has four additional requirements:
Must be completing or have completed an undergraduate degree offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa
Completion of an undergraduate thesis course offered by the Faculty of Engineering with 80% (A-) or higher grade. The research completed within the undergraduate thesis course shall be relevant to the accelerated Master's research and be under the same supervisor
Completion of two elective courses at the graduate level each with 70% (B) or higher grade. The choice of the two Master's courses shall be approved by the thesis supervisor and by the program's director.
Have an admission average of A- (80%) or higher.

TOEFL 92-93/IELTS 6.5 overall Individual 6.0 (Internet-based)
