A TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper-based test or 80 on the Internet-based test a minimum overall score of 6.5 on IELTS

Energy systems engineering is a critical area in need of innovation and highly qualified personnel. The need for readily available and high quality energy is expanding in Newfoundland and Labrador and globally, which has created a worldwide demand for professional training at the graduate level in areas related to the energy industry. The demand for sustainable energy, as well as the environmental concerns of traditional techniques require significant innovation in energy systems engineering.<br><br>To develop more sustainable techniques requires research and innovation to achieve energy production and utilization that is financially viable, readily available and environmentally benign. This program is inter-disciplinary. It addresses the complexity and required expertise in several technical disciplines by the industry.<br><br>There are two streams:<br><br>The Energy Conversion Technical Stream focuses on energy generation and utilization and the Power Systems Technical Stream focuses heavily on electrical aspects of energy engineering. The Energy Conversion Technical Stream is designed for students with an engineering degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial or in a related discipline from a university of recognized standing. The Power Systems Technical Stream is designed for students with a degree in electrical engineering or in a related discipline from a university of recognized standing.<br><br>MASc The MASc in Computer Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Environmental Systems and Engineering Management, Oil and Gas Engineering, Safety and Risk Engineering, Software Engineering, and Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering involves courses only and can be completed in less than two years of full-time study.<br><br>April 1 (graduate diploma, MASc) for Fall admission (all disciplines), Campus: St. John's
