A completed application for admission. Current, official transcripts from each high school and college youve attended. All transcripts must be issued within the last 30 days and be contained in official sealed envelopes or sent through an electronic transcript system. A final high school transcript will be required upon graduation and completion of all high school course work. An official copy of ACT or SAT scores. These must be sent directly from the testing organization or listed on your official high school transcript. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - 68 on the internet based test, TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test, IELTS - 6.0

Our undergraduate civil engineering program is designed to provide the students with the broad educational background essential to civil engineering practice with emphasis in the area of environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, and structural engineering. Students may choose to specialize in the area of environmental engineering. The program offers sufficient number of courses in the structural engineering area to qualify for a structural engineering license.<br> <br>Program educational objectives are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years of graduation. Program educational objectives are based on the needs of the program's constituencies.<br><br>The Civil Engineering program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale prepares students to attain the following skills, 3 to 5 years after graduation:<br><br>Become productive professionals and successfully formulate cost-effective solutions to real-world problems that are fundamental to civil engineering and related fields.<br>Successfully pursue advanced degrees, professional licensure and professional development activities that support life-long learning.<br>Successfully serve the public and improve the quality of life by acting in a professional, safe and ethical manner.<br>Advance towards leadership positions through effective contribution to multidisciplinary teams.
