Students applying as first-time freshmen must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.3 and will have successfully completed 13 core academic requirements:
4 years/units of English
3 years/units of Math
3 years/units of Natural Sciences
3 years/units of Social Sciences
Each academic college has specific guidelines for direct entry. Students not meeting these requirements may be considered for pre-admission into an academic college or admitted to University Studies.
International Baccalaureate Diploma with an overall score or average score across all IB subjects - 23/45
English-language test scores
IELTS - 6 (no part below 5.0)
TOEFL iBT - 78 (no part below 17)

The Bachelor of Civil Engineering program provides students with a solid background in structural, geotechnical, water resources, environmental, and transportation engineering. Civil Engineers are involved in the design, construction and improvement of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, airports, dams and buildings, to name a few. Civil Engineering professions include structural engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering and construction management, among others.<br><br>Graduates work in careers such as Structural Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, Transportation Engineers, Environmental Engineers, Water Resources Engineers, Construction Managers, Building Control Surveyors, Consulting Civil Engineers, Contracting Civil Engineers, Nuclear Engineers, Site Engineers.<br><br>Organizations that employ civil engineers include consulting/design firms, construction firms, local, state or federal government, laboratories or research/development firms, law firms, insurance firms, and colleges/universities. Students learn to apply principles of mathematics, science, and engineering in a variety of contexts. They hone their ability to use the techniques, skills, and tools necessary for science and engineering practice as well as design and conduct experiments. They learn to analyze and interpret data.
