Applicants to our PhD programs should have completed a Masters degree program with a 3.25 minimum grade point average and hold a Bachelors degree with a 3.0 minimum grade point average or equivalent We do not have a minimum GRE score requirement for admission We conduct a comprehensive and thorough review of applications and consider many factors when issuing an admission decision
Your IELTS Academic overall band score should be at least 7.0. 7.0 is the minimum required.
Your TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test.
For the internet based TOEFL TOEFL iBT the following are the expected scores for each section
Writing - 25
Speaking - 24
Reading - 21
Listening - 17
Required to hold a Bachelors degree with a minimum 30 GPA on a 40 scale or equivalent
Strongly encouraged to hold a Masters degree with a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent

Civil Engineering Materials: Ongoing research is focused on inorganic, random porous materials and incorporates expertise at the interface of chemistry and materials science to develop the next generation of sustainable construction materials. The work incorporates aspects of first principles and continuum scale simulations and integrated experiments, ranging from nano-to-macro scales. Special efforts are devoted toward developing low-clinker factor cements and concretes, reducing the carbon footprint of construction materials, and increasing the service life of civil engineering infrastructure.
