国际学生入学条件
TOEFL, the recommended minimum score for admission consideration is 577 on the paper-based test and 90 on the Internet-based test.
IELTS, the recommended minimum overall band score is 7.
Candidates must complete a coherent plan of study based in engineering or engineering science consisting of eight graduate or advanced level courses. The program must include ENGN2010 and 2020* (Mathematical Methods in Engineering and Physics) or their equivalent (must be 2000 level) and three additional 2000-level engineering courses other than ENGN2980 (Special Projects: Reading Research and Design). Courses in engineering management (PRIME) are not acceptable for use as one of the 2000-level engineering classes. The remaining courses may include one ENGN2980 class and up to three 1000-level engineering classes. Students should choose courses in consultation with the student's advisor to develop a coherent program. * Either ENGN 2010 or ENGN 2020 can be replaced by an alternate mathematics course with approval of the appropriate Graduate Representative and the Director of Graduate Studies.
For students in the Master of Science in Engineering program (non-thesis option,) the approved course sequence is 3-3-2, meaning the student takes 3 courses the first semester, 3 the second, and 2 the third. Any deviation from this schedule can result in additional tuition and/or penalties.

课程简介
Because of our unique structure and approach to engineering, for example, the lack of formal boundaries between engineering disciplines, our research is highly interdisciplinary and often includes connections to other departments on campus outside of the School.

In keeping with our interdisciplinary nature, the School of Engineering has no traditional departments and Brown does not award degrees based by specific research area.
Faculty and students perform work in the areas of speech recognition and hardware for speech processing, reconfigurable and parallel computing andmicrophone array research. Current activity is focused on addressing many of the problems associated with real environments using large-aperture microphone arrays. In addition to the research area of embedded signal-processing systems, a multidisciplinary project is devoted to modeling, manipulation, analysis, and inferencing from data of 3-dimensional shape and its application to archaeology and art. Research covered in Computer System Design spans a broad spectrum of topics, including design automation and test of integrated circuits, reconfigurable computing, probabilistic computing, embedded system design, reliability of digital integrated circuits, computer architecture, 3D integrated circuits, and synergies between biological and computational systems
