Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or other Science field preferred
A minimum scholastic average of B or 3.0 GPA (or its equivalent, if the letter grade system is not used) is required for course work completed in the final two years of undergraduate study and any post baccalaureate study.
Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent post bachelor's degree required.
Resume or Curriculum Vitae: List your experience and achievements.
Statement of Purpose: The statement of purpose is intended to give admissions committees an opportunity to know more about your background, interests, preparation for study and goals. Statements should be concise, addressing accomplishments that are relevant to this degree program.
Letters of Recommendation*: Minimum of three letters of recommendation highly encouraged to be from your current employer. You will be required to provide the email address of each recommender. They will be contacted automatically by the system and will upload their letters directly via the graduate admissions portal.
The minimum TOEFL score for admission is 85 for the Internet Based Test and 64 for the Paper Based Test.
The minimum IELTS score is Band 7.0.
Successful applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or from a recognized university-level academic institution abroad and at least a B average (3.0 GPA) or its equivalent by the time they enroll. Some exceptional applicants with lower GPAs may be recommended for admission.

The next step in the wireless revolution is the connection of everyday devices through wireless technology. Embedded wireless technology is expected to explode in the next decade, and touch nearly every market sector from personal electronics and medical devices, to the transportation infrastructure and manufacturing. Next generation embedded wireless devices have unique requirements that dictate a holistic approach to their design. Their form factor, cost, and power consumption must be dramatically lower than existing cellular phones. The design of these devices requires a unique interdisciplinary background in systems, software, hardware and communication theory. The Masters of Advanced Study Degree (MAS) in Wireless Embedded Systems offers a new cross-disciplinary education paradigm, designed to provide high-level training for professional engineers who plan to become technical leaders in the burgeoning field. The degree is conferred by the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and is managed by the departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering at UCSD.
