The architectural design and construction technology AS degree lays a strong foundation for a career as a construction planner, architectural assistant or architectural engineer. Students should consult an advisor for graduation information.<br><br>This program will prepare students for a position as a construction planner or as an assistant to an architect or an architectural engineer in the planning and designing of structures, using construction materials and working with contracts and specifications. If students pass the contractor’s exam, they may become self-employed as contractors. The course work in this program focuses on using the latest technology to solve problems faced by the architect, the engineer and building contractor as they apply to the planning and construction of buildings.
