Australian Bachelor's four year degree (or equivalent)
Applicants with a three-year Bachelor of Science (in an appropriate field), or Bachelor of Engineering degree in another field, may also be considered for admission following the successful completion of the Graduate Diploma in Electronic Engineering.
Applicants with a four-year (Honours) degree in an appropriate field will also be considered.
Specialisations (Compulsory) - Electronic engineering, computer engineering or communication/telecommunication engineering.
Overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
TOEFL Internet based (iBT): overall score of 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing
TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 575 with 5 or better in Test of Written English (TWE)
TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition Accepted [La Trobe will accept this test to meet English requirements as equivalent to the TOEFL iBT test]
TOEFL ITP Accepted [La Trobe will accept this test to meet English requirements as equivalent to the TOEFL paper-based test]
La Trobe will accept the IELTS Indicator to meet English requirements as equivalent to the IELTS test

The telecommunications industry has been transformed by disruptive technologies and employers are searching for engineers with the skills to transform their businesses. Tap into this growing demand by combining studies in network engineering with skills in design and development of new systems. La Trobe's Master of Telecommunications and Network Engineering will give you a solid foundation in hardware and software development, computer networks, signal processing and wireless systems. You will use software currently used in industry and the latest signal generators, PCs, development boards, digital storage oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers, with on-campus access to the Centre for Technology Infusion. Our six-month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program gives you 800 hours of real-world experience working in an engineering company or related-industry employer of electrical engineers, including partners like Telstra, Siemens, the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and Fortis. Alternatively, you could join a research team on an advanced engineering project. You'll build industry connections and see how engineering is practised first-hand. A A10 000 scholarship is also available for eligible students to support your study.
