Your study will cover theoretical and practical aspects across the range of electrical and electronic engineering. The core topics in this course include power systems, power electronics, digital electronics, circuits and devices, electrical machines and drives.<br>Learn about the design, fabrication and use of a wide range of electronics, circuits, devices and power systems.<br><br>Your study will take in:<br><br>electrical machines and power systems such as wind turbines and the national grid<br>electronic devices, circuits and systems such as lasers, microprocessors and computers<br>communication devices and systems such as radio frequency (RF) antennas and 5G mobile networks.<br>Youll explore theoretical and practical aspects across the range of electronic and electrical engineering, and use computer design tools extensively.<br>We offer a wide choice of optional modules these cover many aspects of electrical and electronic engineering and communications.<br>All our first-year students take part in the faculty's Global Engineering Challenge, working with students from other engineering disciplines to solve a real-world problem. All second years get to work on a week-long project devised by one of our industry partners. You'll also get the chance to work with an engineering company through the Sheffield Industrial Project Scheme.<br><br>At the end of your second year you can choose an area to specialise in or continue with the more general electrical and electronic engineering, which is our most popular course. <br>Typical graduate job titles include cybersecurity consultant, design engineer, energy engineering consultant, system engineer, electrical engineer, technology analyst, nuclear controls engineer, software engineer and electronics field engineer.<br>Employers of graduates include ARM, ARUP, BAE Systems, Barclays, Deloitte, Jaguar, Nissan, National Grid, National Instruments, Renault, Rolls Royce, Shell, Siemens, Unilever and Volvo.<br><br>Optional placement year, Study abroad
