If you don't have the usual scientific or mathematical background for an engineering degree, a foundation year is for you. After successfully completing the foundation year, which has modules in mathematics, physics and chemistry, you can start either the BEng or MEng degree.<br><br>This course gives you a solid grounding in aerospace engineering. You'll learn how to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of engineering disciplines.<br><br>After completing a programme of core study, you'll choose either the avionic systems or aeromechanics stream. In your final year, you'll work on a research project led by one of our world leading academics.<br><br>Our modules cover aero propulsion, aerodynamic design, aircraft dynamics and control, computational aerodynamics and project management. You'll complete a group project where you'll design, build and fly an unmanned aerial vehicle. Your study includes some experience of flight instrumentation and an individual investigative project of your choice.<br><br>All our students also take the Global Engineering Challenge, where teams of students work to solve engineering problems in developing countries. This is designed to develop you as a professional engineer and enhance your career prospects.<br><br>The MEng version of the course provides all the academic requirements needed for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
