Typical A-Level Offer - BCC - CDD to include Mathematics and one other Science subject (this is equivalent to 104-80 UCAS tariff points)
Typical IB Offer - Pass the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 29 overall including a score of 5 in Mathematics at Higher Level. You will also need to obtain a score of 5 or above in English at standard level
GCSEs - The University normally requires a minimum 5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English at Grade C or above, or their equivalent but consideration is given to individual circumstances
IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component. Please note that for those students who do not require a UKVI SELT, USW will also be able to accept the IELTS at-home test when it becomes available
TOEFL iBT with a score of 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing (including Home Edition)

Engineering at USW has a strong portfolio of traditional engineering courses, all of which are accredited by the appropriate professional body. This course aims to produce graduates equipped with the prerequisites to work in an Industry 4.0 manufacturing environment. This requires a balance of mechanical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, embedded systems, cloud computing, and data analytics, focusing on the manufacturing industry. Inclusivity is at the core of this course offering a route to HE for students who would normally shy away from a traditional university education, and ensuring graduates leave the university with excellent employability skills and knowledge. The course takes a challenge-based approach and has activity around solving real engineering problems. Therefore, to demonstrate your aptitude and ability, the assessment mode throughout the course will not include examinations. USW Engineering has a long history of graduates who have excellent careers across the industry. Our students are aspirational, able, practical and professional graduates and the industry snap them up immediately.<br><br>We have numerous established links with a variety of industrial partners across the Engineering sector. The Applied Engineering curriculum has been co-designed with industry - local, regional and national employers. Therefore the transferrable and employability skills gained throughout the course will be as currently expected in today's engineering workforce. Our employability stats in the School of Engineering are very high - something we are very proud of. The careers and employability team at USW are always on hand to support, encourage and connect you with prospective employers. You will develop as a multi-disciplinary engineer. You will learn the fundamentals of engineering and technology including mechanical, electrical and electronic, materials and manufacturing design.
