GCSE Science at grade C/4 is required. A-levels: BBB–BBC or 120–112 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of two full A-levels, including a grade B in Mathematics or Further Mathematics (A-level Use of Mathematics is not accepted as a substitute). BTEC: DDM–DMM or 120–112 UCAS tariff points from at least the equivalent of two full A-levels, with BTEC DDD accepted only if it includes a Distinction in Further Mathematics for Technicians or Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems. IB: 32 points or three Higher Level certificates with 655, including Higher Level Mathematics grade 5 and Standard Level Science grade 4; a grade 5 in either Higher Level Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches or Higher Level Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation is acceptable. IB 30–29 points or three Higher Level certificates with 555–554 may also be considered, provided they include Higher Level Mathematics grade 5 and Standard Level Science grade 4. Access to HE Diploma: 15 Level 3 credits at Distinction and 30 Level 3 credits at Merit, depending on the subject studied; advice on acceptability can be provided.

Mechatronics combines principles from mechanics, electronics, computer engineering, automatic control and robots. Mechatronic engineering is the design, manufacture and testing of devices that utilise a combination of these disciplines in the same device. You will gain knowledge of engineering processes, product design, as well as the use of digital electronics and computer-aided (CAD) software.
