To be eligible for admission to your chosen honours course at UWA you must successfully - complete a bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
Applicants wishing to commence an undergraduate degree at UWA must satisfy the Universitys academic and English language competence ELC requirements to be eligible for a place within the course.
Overseas secondary studies taught and examined in English Secondary teaching and examination in English is acceptable if deemed equivalent to Australian matriculation Year 12 with a pass in the final year English paper completed within two years of application.
IELTS Academic - Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 must include Academic Reading and Writing modules for all courses.
TOEFL - Internet-based Test iBT An overall score of 82 with a minimum score of 22 in the Writing section 18 in the Reading section 20 in the Speaking section and 20 in the Listening section for all courses.
TOEFL - Essay Rating Test of Written English TWE of 45 and either 230 Computer-based or 570 Paper-based score.

Honours in Engineering Science provides you with the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in Engineering Science, through a combination of advanced coursework units and an in-depth investigation on a research topic of interest. In this additional year of studies, you will develop high-level technical, research and communication skills beyond those learned in your bachelor's degree. The honours course may be taken in conjunction with the Master of Professional Engineering (MPE), and may be of particular interest to students in the Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) course andor for those wishing to pursue a career in research, including PhD studies.<br><br>Students are able to (1) communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately using written, oral and visual means in a range of contexts; (2) locate and critically evaluate research literature and other sources of information in a particular field; (3) formulate a research question and design a framework to answer the question; (4) select and practise appropriate methods to test a hypothesis or theory; (5) select and apply appropriate conceptual tools to analyse a problem; (6) evaluate and synthesise results and draw appropriate conclusions; (7) demonstrate disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills through research-based enquiry; (8) demonstrate the skills required to learn, and to continue through life to learn, from a variety of sources and experiences; (9) plan and manage a project to meet deadlines; and (10) demonstrate orderly management of self and professional conduct in interactions with others.
