Canada has a growing demand for skilled welders, and Sheridan offers some of the top training in the GTA. You'll get in-depth hands-on education in current welding techniques working with the most current technology and study the theory at the same time. Learn shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW).<br>Our one-year program gives you the chance to earn certifications with the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB). You may test in three welding processes in the flat position to obtain up to three licences. Tests take place on campus, which means testing in familiar surroundings. Sheridan welding students get a discounted rate, making this one of the most affordable ways to earn welding certifications. Youll learn in welding workshops that mimic the professional workplace, from some of the most highly certified faculty in the Greater Toronto Area. Your instructors combine years of teaching experience with decades of work in the welding industry. With Sheridan's small class sizes, youll be sure to get one-on-one instruction and mentoring.<br><br>Career Opportunities<br>After graduating from the one-year Welding Techniques certificate program, you may continue directly into the final year of our Welding and Fabrication Technician diploma, space permitting. There, youll learn advanced welding techniques, theory and more.<br>You'll also be qualified to enter an apprenticeship in the following roles: Welder, Boilermaker, Steamfitter, Millwright, Sheet Metal Mechanic
