An advanced diploma in welding Engineering Technology will set you up for a solid career as an industry leader and for continuing studies at the university level.<br><br>After two years of the Welding Engineering Technician program, youll specialize in Year Three deepening your knowledge of physics, metallurgy, circuits and failure analysis. Offered as both a two-year diploma and a three-year co-op program, youll soon be ready for a job as an inspector, supervisor, educator, consultant, and more.<br><br>Youll develop the know-how to select appropriate materials and site-specific welding processes. And youll ensure structurally-sound cost-effective welds that adhere to critical code requirements.<br><br>Youll also program robotic welding systems, learn to troubleshoot equipment issues, and prepare for the unique challenges of the power, petroleum, chemical and aerospace industries. The result is youll enter the workforce as a sought-after consultant, researcher, inspector and more.<br><br>The Welding Engineering Technician program is identical to the first two years of the Welding Engineering Technologist program. Students graduating from the Welding Engineering Technician program have two options, the first being immediate entry into the work force, the second is to continue their studies for one more year.<br><br>The third year option allows those graduates, wishing to specialize in welding technology, to receive a greater depth of training and knowledge in welding processes, welding metallurgy, welding physics, failure analysis and welding circuits.
