Only an official transcript accompanied by attested translation into English(if needed) will be accepted as evidence of academic preparation.English proficiency is demonstrated by achieving a score of 550 or better on the TOEFL-Pbt, a score of 79 on the TOEFL-IBT, a band score of 6 on the IELTS.
A candidate for the Master of Science degree must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or Bachelor of Arts degree from a recognized institution. Students must have a strong background in earth or environmental sciences with appropriate courses in supporting sciences, mathematics, and computer science. Students not meeting these requirements may be admitted with deficiencies. A candidate for the Master of Science in Teaching degree must possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized institution.
Most of the supplemental materials (transcripts, application fee, etc.) should be sent to the Graduate School. The recommendation letters should be sent to Dr. Slattery. Both mailing addresses are given below. We recommend that your application be submitted to the graduate school by late March so you can be considered when we begin our main cycle of reviews and financial awards in mid-April.

Submit a Statement of Educational and Professional Goals
This statement is submitted with your online application. It is evaluated by the admissions committee for both content and style. Therefore, it should be well written and express clear and realistic goals.
Request Letters of Recommendation
At least three referees should be personally contacted and asked to write letters of recommendation. These should be sent to Dr, Slattery. You should specify the names and contact information for referees within the application form. Please follow up with your referees after you made your initial request to make sure that the letters reach Wright State in a timely manner.
Request Undergraduate Transcripts
Transcripts are required from every undergraduate institution that you attended. Your application remains incomplete until official transcripts are received. Since most institutions have many requests at the same time of year, make your request early so all documents will be received in time. The transcript request form is included in the application package.
If you are currently pursuing your undergraduate degree, it is important that you indicate courses you are currently taking that may not be reflected on your transcript.
Submit Application Fee
The graduate school requires a non-refundable application fee that must be included with your application to cover the cost of handling application materials.

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers the degree of Master of Science in Teaching Earth Science to students possessing a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized institution. The Master of Science in Teaching Earth Science program prepares a student for teaching Earth Science at K-12 level. Since students come to the program with a broad spectrum of experience, their courses of study are designed on an individual basis. No GRE scores are required for applicants to the MST-Earth Science program. The M.S.T. program can lead to teaching certification in Earth Science, however, the College of Education and Human Services approves applications for certification. If you are interested in receiving certification, contact the College of Education and Human Services for a review of transcripts and course requirements for certification.
