The earth science education concentration in the Ocean & Earth Sciences B.S. degree is designed for students interested in teaching earth science in secondary schools. This program meets the requirements for teacher licensure in Virginia as established by the Virginia Board of Education licensure regulations.The combination of classroom learning and hand-on training (including one semester as a student teacher in a local high school) provides students with the necessary skills to teach earth science at the secondary school level directly after graduating from college
