You will be required to submit all official secondary-school records. This includes certificates, examination grades, degrees or diplomas in original language of issue. You must also include official verification of high school completion.
Official English translations of all academic records including certificates, degrees or diplomas.
You will be considered for admission to CSUN as an international freshman if you meet the following requirements:
You have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale or an average of B grades on an A - F letter grading scale. (CSUN will convert your international GPA when you apply for admission.)
You have met our English language requirement:
Duolingo English Test - 95
IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL Internet Based score - 61, TOEFL Paper-based score - 500

This option provides the necessary preparation in mathematics and physics to succeed in geoscience applications that require strong backgrounds in these associated disciplines. This option well prepares students for technical careers in geophysics or for advanced studies in graduate school. The B.S. Honors Program is available for this option.<br> The Department of Geological Sciences focuses on teaching the fundamentals of Earth science, including the scientific method, the ways in which these Earth systems interact with each other, and how humans are currently affecting these systems. Our faculty strive to incorporate current scientific problems into the curriculum, including courses on natural hazards (i.e., earthquakes, wildfire and landslides) and paleoclimatology, in addition to core courses in geology and geophysics. Most courses involve either field or laboratory components and utilize the most recent geochemical, field and modeling techniques. We strive to prepare our students for a diversity of careers, including resource management, education, geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation and energy production, as well as postgraduate study.
