Examine planet Earth: the materials from which it is made, the processes that affect these materials, and the origin and evolution of life. Our Geology degree is certified by the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) and includes a number of field placements, which give important hands-on training to supplement the knowledge taught in classrooms. The Bachelor of Science with Honors is a degree program designed for students to reach in-depth training in a specific subject area and are drawn to scientific research. A research thesis project is embedded in each program and students must maintain higher academic standards than those in a BSc Major degree. Students have the option to add a minor from the Faculty of Arts, Native Studies, Business or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, however doing so will reduce the amount of option courses.
