You must have an Ontario high school diploma with at least six 4U-4M or DU-level courses to be eligible for admission to the first year of university. Please note:

All the courses that are prerequisites for your chosen program must be 4U-level courses, unless otherwise indicated.
We use your top six interim or final grades in 4U, 4M, or DU courses, including the prerequisites for your chosen program, to calculate your admission average. We do not round up your grades.

International baccalaureate diploma
Applicants enrolled in the International Baccalaureatenorth_eastexternal link Diploma program are eligible for admission if they have completed (or are in the process of completing) the full IB program and meet the following conditions:
Have passed six subjects (including the prerequisites for your program of choice) with at least three at the Standard Level and three at the Higher Level.
Have a minimum average of 29 points. The minimum average might be higher depending on the program you have chosen.

IELTS - overall score 6.5 with minimum writing section score 6.5
TOEFL - IBT - Overall Score 86 with writing section score 22.

Chemistry is a modern, dynamic and diverse field that involves investigating the substances that make up our physical world and how they change. Chemistry touches everything we come into contact with. It is connected to almost all areas of science and engineering. For example, chemists play a vital role in developing new drugs, understanding and modifying biological processes and making materials for advanced electronic devices. Chemists are also important players in such diverse areas as genetic engineering, forensic science and the oil and gas industry. More recently, chemists have been at the forefront of nanotechnology and emerging green technologies, particularly in the development of sustainable energy sources. <br>The Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences at the Faculty of Science offers chemistry, biochemistry and biopharmaceutical science programs with unique options in medicinal chemistry, genomics, advanced materials chemistry, ecochemistry and chemical biology. In addition to classroom teaching, programs offer practical laboratory training with a focus on individual instruction.
