Meanwhile, you can gain 20 months of paid work experience through Waterloo's co-op program, allowing you to explore possible career paths while earning money to help pay for your education. With 20 laboratory courses to choose from, youll log more than 200 hours at the bench by the end of your second year. In your final year, you can delve into the world of research with your own year-long project. Get professional credentials. When you graduate with your Chemistry degree, youll be eligible for a professional chemist membership from the Chemical Institute of Canada and be ready to create the future of fuels, plastics, drugs, foods, and other consumer products.<br><br>Honours Chemistry, Computational Specialization is available in both systems of study: regular and co-operative. Computational chemistry is used routinely by chemists, including those with an interest in biological chemistry, to develop and improve models of chemical systems, to investigate and predict properties of materials that are difficult or expensive to make, and to interpret, analyze or predict the results of chemical experiments. This program is intended for students interested in the application of chemistry and computational skills to solve interesting chemical problems. Continuing in Honours Chemistry, Computational Specialization (regular and co-op) requires a minimum cumulative overall average of 60% and a minimum cumulative average of 60% in each of the subjects: Chemistry and Computer Science.
