Official transcripts from colleges/universities attended in the United States
Official transcripts and authorized school records with a course-by-course listing of courses and grades received, such transcripts must have been evaluated by a foreign educational credential agency, at the student's expense.

Minimum grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 system.

An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 61 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL) IBT or 5.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). We will also accept the Duolingo English Test with a score of 71 or higher. International students with superior scholastic records are considered for admission as freshmen and as transfer students. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 500 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL)

The Department of Chemistry at Tennessee State University aspires to prepare students for a diverse workforce through quality education, and become a prominent program both nationally and internationally. Our mission is to provide rigorous education to students, whose career path requires a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of chemistry through designing and continuously improving curricula. We aim to prepare students for entry into graduate or professional schools, and to provide solutions to problems related to the human health, economic development, environment and other local or global issues.
