Applicants to programs in the College of Engineering and Applied Science must have a 3.00 (3.00=B) undergraduate grade point average. Note: applicants who cannot meet this undergraduate standard may still secure regular admission if they have completed 9 semester hours of relevant graduate course work with at least a 3.25 grade point average.

Hydrology is the study of water storage and movement in the Earth system, including the effects of hydrologic fluxes on the distribution of energy, chemicals, and sediments. Our hydrology research program encompasses surface hydrology and crustal hydrogeology. We are intrigued by how climate change has and will continue to impact the distribution of groundwater and water in snow and soils over a broad range of temporal and spatial scales. We explore and push the boundaries between hydrology and other areas, for example, how rapid changes in the cryosphere are altering the water cycle, how crustal fluid drives energy redistribution and mineral resource genesis , or how water interacts with rocks to influence earthquakes. We utilize a combination of in situ data, models, and remotely sensed observations in our studies.
