国际学生入学条件
The normal prerequisite for all programs is a (UVic equivalent) Honours degree in Physics, Astronomy or related subjects. Students admitted to the MSc program, but with backgrounds judged to be less than that of a UVic Honours degree (e.g. a Major degree), are normally required to take additional undergraduate courses in Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics to satisfy the stated prerequisite.
In your application, please include transcripts from all the institutions you have attended, two assessment reports, your current CV, and Statement of Purpose. International applicants only: Please include TOEFL or IELTS results. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page if you have any questions about whether you need to send TOEFL, IELTS, or GRE results.
We require a minimum score of 90 from the internet-based TOEFL (IBT). You must also score at least 20 points each in the listening, speaking, reading and writing sections. We require a minimum score of 575 on the paper-based TOEFL. We require minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS. No individual component can have a score lower than 6.0. We will only accept results from the Academic IELTS.

课程简介
粒子物理小组在国际上享有很高的声誉,在标准模型的精确测试以及寻找新的粒子和现象方面起着领导作用。该小组包括以下领域的世界领导者:牛头蛋白顿和B介子的物理学
The Particle Physics Group is highly regarded internationally and plays a leading role in precision tests of the Standard Model and in searches for new particles and phenomena. The group includes world leaders in the following areas: the physics of the tau lepton and B mesons, searches for supersymmetric particles, theoretical explorations of new physics signatures in low energy processes, and calibrations for measurements of dark energy. The group is engaged in studying the breakdown of matter-antimatter symmetry at the Belle II experiment in Japan, in exploring the high-energy frontier with the ATLAS experiment at CERN, and in studying fundamental neutrino physics in long-baseline neutrino experiments (T2K and HyperK) in Japan. The development and fabrication of detectors for these international projects takes place locally at UVic and at the TRIUMF laboratory. The group is also involved in exploiting advanced computing for particle physics applications. Additionally, the group leads the collaboration providing the fundamental calibration for measurements of dark energy.
