You will need to meet the Graduate School minimum qualifications before you will be considered for admission to the Information Science PhD Program.
Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended to the Toulouse Graduate School.
If you are applying for admission into the Information Science PhD Program with a concentration, please indicate this on your ApplyTexas Application
The IS PhD Program admissions checklist will be visible to you on your myUNT portal page (my.unt.edu) after you have submitted the ApplyTexas Application to the Toulouse Graduate School.
GRE Scores. Please send them to the Toulouse Graduate School from ETS by using school code 6481.
Three (3) letters of recommendation from former professors, employers, or others who can give evidence of applicant's aptitude for, as well as interest in, a research career in information science
Personal statement (300500 words), which should include:
doctoral research areas of interest
identify IS Ph.D. faculty that you would like to study with
research, professional, or community experiences that demonstrate motivation, commitment, and potential for doctoral work
accomplishments (publications, presentations, awards)
communication skills including multilingual proficiency, technology skills, and contribution to the diversity of the field
Curriculum Vitae
Academic Writing Sample (a published paper, major term paper, thesis chapter, etc.). You must be the sole author of your writing sample.
Interview, if applicable

Explore innovative ways to use information technology to secure sensitive information and defend IT infrastructure.The UNT Information Science Ph.D. program responds to the varied and changing needs of the information age by offering the Cybersecurity concentration, offered jointly with UNT Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and UNT Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences with the ultimate goal of providing interdisciplinary training, research and professional services in cybersecurity. The concentration will prepare academics that are capable of conducting research on the critical issues in cybersecurity and related areas and that are highly focused on information science perspectives. They will fulfill the ever-increasing need for highly-trained researchers to assist the federal and state governments, the military and the public sector in defending our information infrastructure and assets.<br><br>The UNT Information Science Ph.D. program with a concentration in Cybersecurity responds to the varied and changing needs of an information age, increasing recognition of the central role of information and information technologies in individual, social, economic and cultural affairs. Students are recruited to the program from a wide range of disciplines and encouraged to expand and refocus their expertise and skills in cutting-edge areas of information science that cross disciplinary boundaries. The multifaceted nature of information science warrants the focusing of resources, courses, and faculties from a broad range of academic units.
