UNC Greensboro's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is a popular and thriving program, one of the largest in the state. Despite its large size, the program maintains modest class sizes and a strong tradition of one-on-one faculty mentorship. <br><br>The courses in the computer science program are designed to teach the foundations of computing rather than a particular technology. This way, students are prepared to change with evolving technology. Courses use a variety of programming languages, with introductory courses using Java and further coursework that can include C, PHP, and other languages.<br><br>PROGRAM DISTINCTIONS<br>UNCG's BS program in Computer Science is thriving, having grown from 131 majors in Fall 2008 to 568 majors in Fall 2020, with 77 degrees awarded in the 2019-2020 academic year. <br>UNCG is one of seven North Carolina public universities accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). <br>You have the option to obtain an accelerated master's degree.<br>The Data Science & Big Data concentration is a new program designed to meet the needs of the ever-growing field of data science.
