A Master's degree in Computer Science with a 78% average.
Student with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science may apply for admission directly to the PhD program. Successful applicants will have an outstanding academic record, breadth of knowledge in computer science, and strong letters of recommendation.
PhD applicants may be admitted into the Master of Mathematics (MMath) program. Like all MMath students, they will have the option to transfer into the PhD program before completing the master's thesis if their performance warrants.

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is one of the world's pioneers in computing education and research. Graduate students play a vital role in all of the school's research activities. Active areas of research include algorithms and complexity, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, computer graphics, databases and text management, networks and distributed systems, programming languages, scientific computing, software engineering, computer algebra and symbolic computation, computational statistics, cryptography, security and privacy, formal methods, health informatics, human-computer interaction and user interfaces, information retrieval, and quantum computing. Valuable cross-cutting research is also showcased within the Faculty of Mathematics Research Information for Grad Students. <br><br>The PhD in Quantum Information is a unique interdisciplinary doctoral program is a collaboration between the Institute for Quantum Computing, the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, and departments in the Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Engineering. This program is designed to provide students with knowledge of quantum information, including both theory and its implementations, advanced expertise in quantum information science and in home program disciplines, as well as training in research.
