The bachelor of arts in physics at East Carolina University is the best example of a liberal arts degree. It is specifically designed for those students who wish for a very broad undergraduate education, with a core study in physics. The BA in physics is tailored to allow students to double major with a BA in science education. It can also form part of a pre-medical or pre-professional program. While not preparatory for graduate study in physics, the bachelor of arts in physics can be used as general preparation for post baccalaureate study in education, business, law, and medicine.<br><br>East Carolina University's BA in physics degree provides the graduate with a core, foundational science education that complements other disciplines (such as education). The training in this program provides the graduate with the option of seeking immediate employment in a variety of occupations that make use of a fundamental knowledge of science, or of continuing graduate work in fields such as education and medicine.<br><br>The faculty is dedicated to providing this experience at an individual level. The student-faculty ratio is about 3:1, so that you can easily get the attention and help you need to be successful. You also will benefit from the broad experiences of faculty in our department.
