Students must achieve a 3.2 cumulative GPA, with junior year being no less than a 3.1 GPA, in a college preparatory curriculum that results in a high school diploma. TOEFL score of at least 550 written / 213 computer / 80 IBT. Score of 6.0 or better on the IELTS.

The Department of Physics helps you develop advanced problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of the science of physics, particularly in the fundamental areas of classical mechanics, quantum mechanics and electromagnetism. We go beyond the classroom and into the laboratory to study and test advanced physics concepts, processes and theories. Through these hands-on research experiences, you learn to independently design and conduct experiments that solve practical physics problems, as well as to analyze and present complex data. We offer a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science and a minor in physics. Our graduates are prepared for success in graduate studies, medical school and other professional studies, and a broad range of science, engineering and technology careers. The student will demonstrate the ability to think critically and to use appropriate concepts to analyze qualitatively problems and/or situations involving physics. The student will demonstrate the ability to use appropriate mathematical techniques and concepts to obtain quantitative solutions to problems in physics. Convert a physical situation articulated in English to a mathematical formulation, and then analyze it quantitatively. The student will demonstrate the ability to use appropriate calculator and/or computing tools to solve problems encountered in course work or in supervised study. The student will be able to design and carry out experimental investigations, analyze data with appropriate treatment of errors and uncertainties, and form conclusions based on the data and analysis.
