The Bachelor of Science in Physics degree plan is the only official undergraduate physics degree plan at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. It meets the general education requirements of the university, provides a rigorous undergraduate foundation of physics and mathematics, and includes a sufficient number of free electives for a choice of a minor and for a strong background in any number of fields of interest or specialization.<br><br>Because physics is the foundation of all natural sciences, engineering, and technology and because a physics education provides the problem solving skills that apply to a multitude of unrelated disciplines, physics majors display a dramatic variety of interests and career goals. Therefore, each physics major receives personal counseling to help select those free electives that best meet the specific needs and ambitions of that particular student.
