Physicists' discoveries, including solid-state transistors, lead to new technology and a broader understanding of the universe. A Physics major teaches you to ask fundamental questions, and then answer those questions through observation and experimentation. Physics is crucial to understanding the world around, inside and beyond us. It is the most basic and fundamental science.<br><br>Our program offers you a personalized education through a combination of courses and research experience. The department strives to provide our students with a one-on-one experience, as well as opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research in the areas of astronomy, atomic-molecular physics, biophysics, condensed matter physics, high-energy physics and radiation physics. The Physics Department offers you several distinct and flexible degree options which lead to a Bachelor of Science in Physics.
